Notice that the commercials include
a new weight reduction supplement! So this
show was likely intended to sway people against the
Protocol to boost sales by this sponsor.
Prior to the show, on the Regis & Kelly
show, Mike appeared and stated that folks should stay
tuned to see a new diet being de-bunked!
Note that the emphasis was on 'safety' of the Protocol.
The effort was to show that it wasn't safe, although they were unable to
do more than unsubstantiated scare tactics.
The source that most folks are using online for purchasing
hCG is extremely reliable. Thousands of people have used these overseas
sources with no negative issues whatsoever:
ORDER HCG
The FDA squelched the Protocol back in the 60's because of
the danger to huge corporations potentially losing income who provided drugs
for obesity related illenesses, fast food and processed food, weight loss
programs, etc.
When Jennifer explained that it wasn't just about the weight and
that she wants to be a size 4, she was referring to the fact that hCG not only
aids in weight reduction, but also sculpts the body such that it is shaped much
more pleasingly than otherwise. Even when Jennifer weighed the same in the
past, she was unable to wear a size 4. This is a common result! It
also means that the obese don't have the problems with excess skin that is so
often a result of rapid weight reduction otherwise and sometimes has to be
surgically removed.
No one has experienced any negative, major side effects from hCG.
No one has died, as many have from gastric bypass surgery, from the Protocol!
To suggest that gastric bypass is safer than the Simeons' hCG Protocol belies
everything else Dr. London states.
hCG enables those who are otherwise unable to make the
'lifestyle changes' that the Dietician states are necessary.
Note that the applause for Dr. London & Ms. Gans was prompted
and NOT spontaneous.
The statement was made that 1-2 lbs per week is safe, and yet
gastric bypass, which results in much more rapid weight loss, was touted as
safer than the hCG Protocol.
The sublingual method delivers the hCG via absorption through
the membranes under the tongue and into the bloodstream, NOT via the
gastrointestinal system. It is troubling that Dr. London doesn't have a
better understanding of the term 'sublingual'!

Backstage Discussions on
NYC Nat'l TV Show 04/29/08 with Shalom
Shick & Dr. Gedde
If hCG causes cancer, why don't
all the women who are pregnant get cancer?
Further, why would it be considered safe to
administer in even higher doses for infertility?
It's 'Kevin Trudeau' who wrote the book Dr. London references,
not 'Gary Trudeau' (who is a political cartoonist, author of 'Doonesbury').
Kevin Trudeau is not a lawyer. His infomercial was taken
off the air due to charges by the FTC that he stated fraudulently that one could
'eat anything you want' after completing the Protocol. I don't consider
this fraudulent as the key word in the statement is 'want'. One doesn't
want the same foods after the hypothalamus is re-set, nor in the same
quantities.
There is plenty of evidence that hCG is effective in weight
reduction:
http://hcgobesity.org/research/index.html You will find an annotated
bibliography with over 520 references on the subject of weight loss both in
general and with the addition of HCG into the protocol.
The studies Dr. London refers to were sponsored by the FDA.
The FDA has vested interests, IMHO, in NOT approving a weight reduction protocol
that works and the studies were not performed properly using the Simeons menus
or monitoring the subjects carefully.
Dr. Gedde had not yet done the Protocol herself as of the
filming of this show. She was in the process of preparing to do so in such
a way that she would be able to research it personally in order to report her
findings in the book she plans to write. This meant much more preparation
and planning than otherwise is required to do the Protocol, hence her delay.
A drug company has not and will not 'pick up' hCG as a sponsor
because when people have a way to effectively combat obesity, they will lose
infinitely more income on the drugs, surgeries, etc. that are associated with
obesity than they would make on hCG. It is apparent that 'cures' are not
something drug companies are interested in, as evidenced by the unfruitful and
apparently unending searches in the realms of cancer, diabetes and other
maladies.
It is completely ridiculous to suggest that dosing hCG
sublingually results in nothing more than 'placebo effect'. The many
people, including me, who have tried so many different methods to reduce weight
over many years who finally have had results with hCG cannot be explained by
placebo effect. In my case, binge eating most certainly cannot be stopped
by a placebo!
The VLCD (Very Low Calorie Diet) of 500 calories is carefully
balanced to provide nutrients and it is strongly recommended that all foods be
organic as well. The VLCD is only followed during the reduction phase
(Phase 2) of the Protocol, not for the rest of one's life by any means. No
one is expected to follow the VLCD without taking hCG, which is only done during
the reduction phase and not recommended for longer than 45 days at a time
without a maintenance phase break. The Dietician's remarks about being on
500 calories for 5 years revealed her complete ignorance of the Protocol itself!
The 'Registered Dietician' further showed she didn't understand
the Protocol when she referred to hypothyroidism rather than the hypothalamus,
which is the organ that is 're-set' by hCG to improve the metabolism and reduce
the cravings/appetite.
I find it interesting the the 'Registered
DIETician' states that
she doesn't promote diets!!!
I did not want to trot out my credentials, however I do have a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from Tennessee Technological
University and am highly qualified to do scientific research. I am not
impressed with anyone who is a Nutritionist or Dietician after seeing the kinds
of foods that those 'professionals' recommend serving to our children in our
schools and to patients in our hospitals, both of which indicate to me that
these people have no training of any significance in what foods are healthy at
all!
It is now fairly common knowledge that physicians haven't a clue
when it comes to nutrition. They are given about a semester of training in
their academic curriculum on the subject and it is a rare doctor who will
suggest that changing one's diet is the solution to an illness, although this,
after my extensive research and experience, is the most important information
one can have to combat most any ailment!
